Weather & Best Time to Visit in Las Vegas

Best time to visit Las Vegas

October through April is the sweet spot for Las Vegas: mild sunny days (50s–70s°F), comfortable nights, and thinner crowds on the Strip. March and October in particular offer ideal temperatures for both outdoor day trips and walking the Strip. Summer (June–August) is brutally hot — often 105°F or above — and while hotels are air-conditioned, outdoor activities like Red Rock Canyon and Grand Canyon day trips become uncomfortable; plan outdoor tours for early morning only. December and January bring the coolest weather and occasional rain, but hotel rates drop sharply and the city stays lively. Spring break (March) and New Year's Eve are the two busiest periods; book accommodations months in advance for those windows.
